In 2003 (I think) I performed my first run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Anyone who's attended the festival knows what an incredible place it is to be in August. In addition to lots of great music and theatre, I saw a slew of today's most side-splittingly talented comedians - folks like Brendon Burns, Janey Godley, Lucy Porter and the always incredible (and apparently unhinged), Boothby Graffoe. It left a real impression on me. I've always done comedy songs on my albums and in my live show - stuff like S&M, VD Blues, Nookie in the Mail, etc... - but that Fringe experience inspired me to finally sit down and produce an entire album of comedy songs for adults which is, 'Squirrels in the Attic'. Within months of its release, a number of tracks became internet hits, winning awards such as 'I Miss Monica' [People's Choice Award: Huffingtonpost.com], 'Doint, Doint, It's Just a Little Joint' [Top Comedy Song: American Marijuana Music Awards (I even got a trophy!) and 'A Terrible Pickle' [Finalist:Treehugger.com], '4 More Years' [Finalist: Huffingtonpost.com], etc... Other tracks like 'Death to the Neighbors', 'I Never Really Like You All That Much' and 'Just the Right Size', have become fan-favorites and never fail to generate peels of laughter in my live set (well, except for that one time I almost got kicked off a cruise-ship filled with octogenarians... but that's another story).
